State of Independence

As we head into this long weekend, I'm trying to narrow down the reasons why the Fourth of July is my favorite holiday.

The fireworks? Ooooh, sparkly!!
The proximity to my birthday? Yeah, it's all about me, what?!
The weather, the food, the parades, the tradition (mostly my family's, but I guess the nation's as well), the history, and especially now, the personal pride...

We're heading up to New York this weekend for the Miller family reunion, and will return next week with plenty of stories and pictures. Happy Fourth!
