Poor Virgil

Virg is my teal Corolla, the sturdy compact which saw me through senior year of high school, four cold-ass central New York winters, countless treks up and down the Eastern seaboard while I visited Matt in Georgia and we then moved to North Carolina...but he didn't get any lovin' this weekend. Why? Because we live two blocks from a Metro station, kids, and as gas efficient as Virg is, nothing is more efficient than public transportation.

Matt and I hopped on the Metro all weekend long, losing ourselves in the cute shops of Fells Point and enjoying the perfect weather on Saturday and wandering aimlessly in the Aquarium when the skies opened on Sunday. We could get used to this.

In other news, Jake had his first vet appointment over the weekend and all looks well. What a huge difference from Molly's first vet experience, which was an emergency appointment less than 24 hours after we brought her home. Our rescued girl kept us running back and forth to the vet for the first 2-4 months...we're quite glad not to be reliving that!

"The kids" are adjusting to each other quickly. Molly let him into our bedroom over the weekend (she things it's her room, so that was a big deal) and even snuggled with him on the bed. Jake is going to a perfect match for Molly as he gets a little older/bigger. He's already standing up to her few attempts to bully him, and can keep up with her speed-wise. I'll take more pictures tonight - he's growing so fast!
