Weekend, thy theme is movies

The past few days marked the first (and only, for the foreseeable future) relaxing weekend in our new home and city. We spent it in search of a replacement for our beloved Cameo, the perfectly restored art house movie theater in the heart of "downtown" Fayetteville. During our time at Bragg, we saw countless art, independent, foreign, and classic films, not to mention a few traditional box office lovelies (YAY for Harry Potter!).

We started out with date night on Friday, heading to Harbor East for a showing of WALL-E. The theater was very funky, with a bar inside the lobby, but once you got inside to the screen, it was just like every other multiplex. The movie itself was simply breathtaking - one of the best Pixar films ever. I want a WALL-E.

Sunday was a rainy day and perfect for watching Wanted at the Senator. Completely different movie, completely different theater. A fun action movie with a kick-ass soundtrack? What's not to love? Netflix also brought us Junebug (Amy Adams saves this from wtf territory) and Lars and the Real Girl (amazing story), which we watched while getting the house organized in between our trips out.

Lest you think all we're capable of is watching a movie, N and A came over for a barbecue on Saturday. They brought Riese with them, which wasn't exactly a successful experiment. I'm holding out hope that once Molly settles in, she'll be a much more accommodating hostess.

So yeah, three days, four movies...three of which I'd watch again. And now, to my fabulous job. Which I love. A lot.
