I embrace my Type-A-ness (I know, you're shocked) and love to organize future unknowns in my head. The grand plan includes a post-Army forever home with multiple acres, multiple animals, and homegrown veggies and herbs. We took one more step toward my dream future today, with the purchase of a composting bin for our organic soil needs.
The county sponsored a two-day bin sale at discounted prices and we jumped on it. The sale began at 9 a.m. and when we showed up at 9:07 a.m., we got in line behind at least 50 other people. It was fabulous to see so many people excited about composting, either because they wanted to improve their gardens, or avoid herbicides and pesticides, or reduce the amount of waste that’s being sent to the landfill.
We spent the rest of the afternoon in the backyard, clearing winter out and welcoming spring with open arms. Setting up the compost bin turned out to be the easiest part of the whole day.
