Today marks the end of Matt's 10-week vacation and the first day of his new challenge in law school.
It wasn't easy for my husband to step away from the infantry career path. He loved his job. His soldiers always made it a point to tell me that they considered it an honor to follow him in battle. It was an honor for him, as well.
He made the decision to apply for this very competitive program partly because of me and our family, and I'm very aware of - and grateful for - that. It's a way to continue his service, which is an important part of his identity, while still maintaining a healthy work/life balance (and preparing for life after the Army, which we've heard exists).
We're so excited for this next step and the next three years of semi-civilian life. Personally, I'm incredibly happy that after climbing the walls for the past two months, he's finally back to work! Happy First Day of School!
